Why Obsius
Writing by hand and working in a connected notes vault solve different problems. Supernote gives you a place to capture a thought naturally; Obsidian gives you a place to develop it, connect it to other work, and keep using it. Obsius is the bridge between those two parts of your process.
Bring page images and recognized text into your vault, keep the handwriting as a preserved source, and continue working on the text. Once a page has become editable text, that text can move between the vault and the device without asking an edit in Obsidian to redraw your original ink.

Keep the original handwritten page alongside the text you develop from it. Vault-side edits do not rewrite the captured notebook.

Let the handwritten page be the starting point, not the end of the note's usefulness. Bring a readable page image and recognized text into the place you already organize your work.
Keep the original page available when the wording or layout matters. Recognition gives you a text version to work with, and you can return to the preserved handwriting when you want to review a reading or revisit the original context.
The recognition path is designed for ordinary notebooks as well as pages that already contain embedded recognition text. You should not have to recreate your entire writing habit around a special note mode before handwritten material can become useful in the vault.
An editable note without losing its source
Develop the recognized text in Obsidian while keeping the captured handwriting intact. The two serve different purposes, and you do not have to sacrifice one to get the other.
Once a page is promoted to text, that text becomes the version you continue editing. A device-side text mirror gives you another place to work with it; it does not turn a Markdown edit into a change to the original notebook.
Checkboxes remain part of the note rather than moving into a separate task database. The text workflow keeps those edits connected to the page, while preserving the distinction between what you originally wrote and what you later developed from it.
Keep the vault you have already built
Your handwritten material should join your existing notes, not require a second knowledge system or a new sync service just to remain accessible.
Obsius produces ordinary Markdown notes and page images in the vault. That gives the captured material a useful life alongside the rest of your files, including when you are reading those files without the enhanced plugin experience.
Device transfer and Obsidian vault sync are separate choices. Keep the sync arrangement you already use for your vault, and choose the device and recognition setup that fits where you work. Recognition and transport options have different privacy and hosting implications; the integration does not force them all into one package.
Common questions about Obsius
Will editing in Obsidian change my original handwriting?
Obsius treats captured notebook pages as read-only sources. Edits apply to the derived text and its mirror, not to the original ink.
Do my notebooks need to be created in recognition mode?
No. Provider-neutral recognition is part of the product's core model. Embedded recognition text can be useful when present, but ordinary handwritten notebooks are not excluded from the workflow.
Do I need to replace my Obsidian sync setup?
The integration does not depend on an Obsius-owned vault sync service. Notes and page images travel through the vault-sync arrangement you already use; device transfer is a separate choice.
