Why Lyla
Sometimes the fastest way to work through an issue is to talk about it. Lyla brings your GitHub work into a voice conversation: speak a request, let the agent use the access and tools you have configured, and hear a concise answer without turning every thought into another typed prompt.
The Windows experience combines local speech with a locally running GitHub Copilot harness. Lyla does not operate a product backend between you and your providers. Your accounts, permissions, and choice of agent remain part of the setup you control.

You can interrupt playback when you have another question or want to change direction. The text already delivered remains in the conversation, so steering the exchange does not mean abandoning the work that has already been done.

Bring your GitHub authorization and the credentials required by your selected providers. Device credential storage protects those settings; the services you connect to still receive the authentication needed to handle your requests.
The configured agent harness determines which tools and actions are available. Lyla makes those tools usable through voice, keeping the conversation connected to your chosen agent and the accounts it is authorized to use.

Where is the current voice experience supported?
The current voice workflow is for Windows, with speech recognition and playback running locally and GitHub work handled through the configured Copilot agent.
Does local speech mean everything stays offline?
Speech recognition and playback can run locally in the Windows experience. GitHub requests and a connected model or agent provider still use those services; local speech is not a promise of a fully offline GitHub assistant.
Can I change direction while Lyla is speaking?
You can interrupt playback and cancel the active agent turn. Text already delivered remains in the conversation, so you can continue from that context rather than starting over.
